His jewels express the spiritual values of the Maori culture and manifest the knowledge of ancient production techniques.
After all, the philosophy of the brand is apparent in the name: Marco Ta Moko. Marco is for Marco Dal Maso and
Ta Moko means “tattoo” in the ancient Maori language.
«I personally traveled through the magical islands of New Zealand
during my spiritual journeys back in 2006 and I was completely astonished and absorbed by the Ta Moko beliefs and culture»,
explains the designer and founder of the brand after his products had a worldwide debut on Luisaviaroma, and
can now also be found at Neiman Marcus.
The story of the DML family, with whom he learned the art of jewelry and laid the foundation for his style since 2007, is at the heart of his creative intuition. It was a good experience that allowed him to make a name for himself and start his own brand in 2010. This is how the profound influence of a far-off world, geographically and temporally speaking, like that of the Maoris, has been transported to men’s jewels through the magic of
re-interpretation. And these jewels capture the allure of history and mythology.
Marco explains, «each piece symbolizes a deep, strong value and has its own significance that can be handed down throughout
the ages, becoming more and more precious for each generation. I know that looking at, touching and wearing my
jewels will make you feel what I feel: the infinite touch of being alive!».
Having an eclectic personality, he loves exploring
the profound depths of ornamentation.
So much so, that he began writing about it. In fact, he has been successfully collaborating with Harper’s Bazaar Jewelry
China: he has a popular monthly column about everything from design to jewelry and from lifestyle to the luxury world.
